Add a Spond calendar to UpNext Family
Spond does not offer a calendar link. Let Spond copy events into an Apple Calendar of their own, then choose that calendar in UpNext Family.
Before you start
Check your access
- Spond copies only events you are invited to. Check the invitations in Spond first.
- Spond needs Full Access to your iPhone calendars. Spond says this is the only option that lets it update moved events and remove cancelled ones.
- Use a calendar just for Spond. If Spond writes into your personal calendar, UpNext would import your personal events too.

Part 1
Send Spond events to Apple Calendar
- In the iPhone Calendar app, tap Calendars, then Add Calendar, and create a calendar for Spond events, for example “Spond”.
- Open Spond, select your profile picture, then Calendar settings.
- Grant calendar access and choose Full Access when your iPhone asks.
- Under Default calendar, choose the calendar you just created.
- Under events, turn on both accepted and missed events so the whole schedule is copied.
- Optional: under calendar settings for groups, send each child’s group to its own calendar, then import each one for the right child in UpNext.
Provider note: To stop syncing later, follow Spond’s order: set the calendar to none in Spond first, then remove Spond’s calendar access in iPhone Settings. Doing it the other way round can leave old Spond events in Apple Calendar, and UpNext could keep showing them.
Part 2
Choose that calendar in UpNext
- Open UpNext Family, go to Settings, find Calendar Feeds, then choose Manage → Add Calendar.
- Under A whole schedule, choose Apple Calendar.
- Choose Allow Calendar Access if asked, then Check Apple Calendar.
- Under Choose calendar, pick the calendar you set up for Spond.
- Under Whose calendar is this?, choose the family member, then add the group name and activity. Season and notes are optional.
- Check the preview, then choose Import calendar.
Part 3
Confirm that it is working
Open Settings, then choose Calendar Feeds. The new calendar should show its provider, upcoming-event count, and an OK status after the first import. Use Refresh calendars → Check now later to ask connected calendars for current changes.
UpNext reads that Apple Calendar again each time it refreshes, so changes Spond makes there show up in Updates. UpNext does not edit Apple Calendar.
Troubleshooting
If the calendar does not load
- If an event is missing, check in Spond that you were invited to it.
- If moved or cancelled events stop updating, check that Spond still has Full Access to your calendars.
- If you decline an event, Spond may remove it from the calendar. UpNext may then show it as removed.
- If UpNext says calendar access is not enabled, allow UpNext Family full calendar access in the iPhone Settings app, then try again.
Evidence
How this guide was checked
Spond’s help pages document syncing to the iPhone calendar with Full Access, a default calendar choice, separate calendars for groups, and switches for accepted and missed events. They do not offer a copyable calendar link, so this guide uses Apple Calendar. The UpNext steps were checked against the app’s source code, not on a phone.
Verification boundary: the instructions were checked against public documentation. No private team account or live family feed was used for this page.
UpNext Family is an independent app, not affiliated with or endorsed by Spond or any other provider named here.
